Brief Company Profile	The Academy for Urban School Leadership has been training new teachers since 2001 in an intensive one-year residency program. We now have over 300 graduates and operate 14 Chicago Public Schools, serving over 6,000 children. AUSL is the only program of its kind that combines a teacher residency training program with a school turnaround strategy to dramatically improve chronically under-performing schools. Our residents spend an entire school year with a mentor teacher in one of our training academies while earning their master’s degree and state teaching certification. Our training and coursework are focused on the unique challenges of teaching in an urban school upon graduation. AUSL provides a training salary and benefits during the residency year in return for a four-year commitment to an AUSL turnaround school.
